Team Director

Diego Grove - Diego is a Sloan MBA 2018 Candidate and currently pursuing a Sustainability Certificate at MIT. At MIT he is the Co-President of the Investment Management Club and of the Impact Investing Club. Diego did his Summer Internship at Orbis Investment Management, a deep value investment firm where he was an equities Investment Analyst. Prior to MIT, Diego led MGV Investments international equities effort where he focused on buying companies in Developed and Latin American Markets at steep discount to intrinsic value after performing deep in-house research, putting a strong emphasis on constructive shareholder engagement by enhancing ESG principles. With an eye for opportunities, he has developed multiple for profit and nonprofit startups related to retail, restaurants, real estate and financial services industries.  Diego is a former rugby player, an avid travel surfer, an enthusiastic runner and an aspiring restaurateur. 

Jayesh Kannan, CFA - Jayesh is a Sloan 2018 MBA candidate, co-President of the MIT Sloan Investment Management Club and a member of the Finance Track Student Advisory Board. Jayesh's interest is in emerging markets and technology equities investing. His prior experience includes working on the sell-side at Morgan Stanley in Singapore and New York City, and on the buy-side at William Blair in Chicago. Jayesh graduated as a Computer Engineer from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where he was a Singapore Airlines-Neptune Orient Lines Scholar. He previously contributed to the Financial Times' MBA Blog and has traveled to over 45 countries. In his spare time, Jayesh enjoys squash, improv acting and cooking.

Clayton Pfannenstiel, CFA - Clayton is a Sloan MBA 2018 Candidate. He is a fundamental bottom-up investor with 7 years' experience across a variety of sectors on both the sell-side and the buy-side. He had equity research experiences with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse, and also investment management experiences with Sirios Capital Management and Artisan Partners. Clayton is an active member of Investment Management Club. He holds a B.A. in Economics from UNC Chapel Hill. 

Mengyuan Sun - Mengyuan is currently a first year MBA student at MIT Sloan School of Management (Class of 2019). She was previously an investment banking analyst and associate at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, where she worked on various capital market and M&A transactions. Mengyuan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014 with a dual degree from The Wharton School and School of Engineering and Applied Science. She is also a nature lover and enjoys going on hiking and biking trips with friends and family.

Denise Liu - Denise is a Sloan MBA 2019 Candidate and currently pursuing a Finance Track and a Sustainability Certificate at MIT. She previously worked with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York City and Hong Kong, where she advised financial institutions on M&As, IPOs, restructuring, equity and debt offerings. At Sloan, She is a VP of Marketing of the Investment Management Club and has represented MIT at the stock pitch competition at Michigan Ross School of Business. Denise holds a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in Philosophy from Duke University.

Hisham Ibrahim, CFA - Hisham is a Sloan MBA 2019 Candidate. He previously worked with Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia) in foreign reserves management. He helped found the Equity Desk in 2012, and was responsible for launching the Bank's investments into emerging Asia (including China-A). He is also a CPA in the state of Virginia. Hisham enjoys long-distance running and live music. 

Content Team

Isaac Schlecht, CFA - Isaac is a member of MIT Sloan’s Class of 2019 MBA program.  He previously worked at Catalyst Investors, a NY-based late-stage venture capital firm investing in technology-enabled services ranging from vertical SaaS to communication infrastructure and clean tech, where his responsibilities included investment analysis, research, and portfolio management.  Previously, Isaac worked at Samson Capital Advisors (now Fiera Capital USA), a fixed income and currency investment manager.  At Sloan, Isaac is an active member of the Investment Management and Venture Capital & Private Equity Clubs and also serves as VP of Content for the 2018 Venture Capital & Innovation Conference.  Isaac received an AB in Economics and Political Theory from Brown University.

Alex YeeAlex is a Sloan MBA 2018 candidate and a Vice President of the MIT Sloan Investment Management Club. Prior to Sloan, Alex was a member of the investment office of the Moore Foundation, which manages the Foundation’s $6.5B endowment. Prior to that, Alex was an analyst at UBS Investment Bank in the Global Healthcare Group. This past summer, Alex interned at Brandes Investment Partners, where he worked as a research analyst with the firm’s global equities team. Alex graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where he double majored in Economics and Molecular and Cell Biology. Alex is an avid outdoorsmen, and is a proud supporter of his hometown Bay Area sports teams. 

Operations Team

Elias Hoban - Elias worked as a strategy consultant at Accenture in Houston, Texas for five years prior to coming to Sloan. At Accenture, he advised clients in the energy and chemicals industries across an array of different business functions. Before Accenture, Elias graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University. At Sloan, he is currently a member of the 2019 MBA class, an active member of the Investment Management Club, and plans to attain a Business Analytics Certificate and complete the Finance Track. After Sloan, he is interested in going into investment management. In his free time, Elias enjoys oil painting and charcoal drawing.

Daniel Wang - Daniel is a member of MIT-Sloan’s Class of 2019 MBA program.  He previously worked as a private equity associate at Barings, where he helped to source, diligence and make direct controlling investments within the pharmaceutical space. At Sloan, Daniel is an active member of the Investment Management club and represented MIT at the UVIC stock pitch competition. Daniel received a BA in economics from Dartmouth College and in his free time enjoys traveling and skiing.
